Why The Right Perscription Matters Pt.1

If you're having trouble seeing this, it's probably time to go to the eye doctor.

Especially if you have already been fitted for glasses or contacts in the past.

If you have a prescription for glasses or contacts, it is important to wear them as prescribed by your doctor to correct any vision impairments you may have, such as myopia. This can help you perform daily tasks more efficiently and enjoyably without straining your eyes while reading, driving, or using a computer.

In addition to improving your vision, the right prescription glasses can also improve your overall quality of life. When you can see clearly and comfortably, you may feel more confident and able to participate in activities that you enjoy. This can lead to a better overall sense of well-being and happiness.

How do I find the right prescription for my eyes?

Finding the right prescription for your eyes involves visiting an eye doctor and undergoing a series of examinations to determine the correct prescription strength of glasses or contacts. Here is an overview of what the process of getting an eye exam is like at Invision Eyecare:

Schedule an appointment with our eye doctor. This can be an optometrist (a primary eye care provider for vision and eye health) or an ophthalmologist (a medical doctor specializing in eye surgery).

During the appointment, the eye doctor will perform a series of tests to evaluate your vision and eye health. At our office, this includes a visual acuity test, a refraction test to determine your prescription strength, a retinal mapping scan, a visual field test and an eye health exam to check for any signs of eye disease.

Based on the results of these tests, the eye doctor will determine your prescription strength and recommend the appropriate eyewear for you. They will also provide instructions on how to care for your glasses or contacts and how often to schedule follow-up appointments.

Once you have your prescription, you can purchase glasses or order contacts from our office. We have a wide variety of frames for anyone's taste and style. Or, if you would like to think about ordering glasses or contacts, you are welcome to try on our frames to understand what styles look best on you without purchasing them. We will send you home with a copy of your prescription either way.

It is important to note that eyewear prescriptions may change over time, so you should schedule regular eye exams to ensure that you have the correct prescription. This will help you maintain good vision and eye health and allow your doctor to monitor the progression of any health conditions they may have encountered during the exam.

Invision Eyecare is Passionate about helping your comfort and health. So if you feel like you need to update your prescription, or if something just seems off, schedule an appointment.

Our state-of-the-art equipment paired with our excellent staff is a surefire combination to make sure you are on your way to clearer vision and better eye health.
